Club Boat Hire

Somers YC offers members the opportunity to hire club boats on race days and in social sailing times.

These include:

Pacers, Hawks, Open Skiffs, Hobie Waves, & Hobie 16

Club Hawks and Open skiffs are available for Seasonal Hire.

We have an array of boats, both monohulls and catamarans, available for members to hire.

All boats are available for casual hire, while Hawks and Open Skiffs are also available for seasonal hire. There is a catch! People hiring the club boats must know how to sail. This ensures our boats are treated properly, looked after, and rigged and sailed without risking yourselves and others.

A non-refundable booking fee applies

Hobie Wave	1-2 person beginner catamaran	casual hire	$20
Hobie 16	2 person intermediate catamaran	casual hire	$25
Hawk	1 person youth boat	seasonal hire	$150
Open Skiff	1 person Youth boat	seasonal hire	$400

It is intended that this casual use will provide for members who are transitioning to the purchase of their own boat, or who have an occasional requirement for a two-handed dinghy; for example, to introduce visitors or relatives to sailing.

Casual hire bookings must be made inside club race times or social sailing times.

This is due to the need for a Patrol Boat to be on the water or ready on the beach to help if needed, keeping you and our equipment safe.

Club Hobie 16 to be booked in consultation with another Hobie sailor for advice and suitability.
