There is no club race on this day, but there is a better race to compete in. The Montalto Marathon.
This is a long-distance race for Off-the-beach boats, sailboards and trailerable yachts. The race has 3 different start locations, Somers, Merricks and Flinders, that will all be starting simultaneously. On entering, sailors have the choice of completing the half-marathon, which is Somers - Point Leo and back, or the full marathon distance of Somers - Flinders and back. The course follows the coast slightly with markers and buoys along the way. Along your journey, you are passing sailors going in the opposite direction. They are in the same race and may have started from Flinders or Merricks. It is a race like no other and not to be missed.
