Green/Silver Fleet is a club-based junior sailing activity program for kids who have completed the Better Sailing/Start Racing Program or an equivalent junior learn-to-sail program.
The Green fleet program is designed for kids who would like to further progress their sailing skills without the competitive aspects of racing. It uses a more relaxed teaching structure to further develop each sailor's independence and sailing knowledge with a fun, game-based and social approach. Sailors will use club boats they can hire for the season or their own boats.
The Silver Fleet is for students who are ready to learn the skills of dinghy racing. The focus is still on fun, and this is enhanced by learning the new skills associated with racing. Silver Fleet sailors will develop their boat handling and racing skills and learn basic racing rules in a fun and supportive learning environment. Sailors will use the club Open Skiff, which they can hire for the season or their own boats. Sailors will be encouraged to participate in varied race formats such as team racing, club racing and other events organised by the Club and the Victorian Open Skiff Association.
This Program is run by volunteers and will require parent support as needed.

Program Focus:
Following the structure and instruction in learn-to-sail programs. Green Fleet is an introduction to coaching and learning to train.
Green Fleet promotes practicing the fundamental skills of sailing, introduces some foundation race skills through training activities in an environment that is enjoyable, without a competition focus.
During the Program sailors are encouraged to take part in freesail activity, and to trial a variety of boats, boards, and other club related activity through age appropriate design.
