Calling all Open Skiff and Div 6 Sailors, to join in an 'unregatta'  at Somers Yacht Club.

An 'unregatta' is a fun, informal sailing event designed to break away from the rigid structure of traditional regattas. Instead of focusing solely on competition, an unregatta emphasises creativity, adventure, and skill-building through unconventional sailing challenges and games.

Schedule of events:

There will be a maximum of 8 short races over one day. Minimum of 3 races will make a series.

Briefing at 09:30am downstairs. Sailing commencing soon after the briefing.

Morning races will most likely be off-the-beach starts and include novelty challenges.

Afternoon races will be Club Racing in Division 6 (2.30pm start) as per Somers Yach Club Sailing Instructions amended at the discretion of the Race Officer on the day.

We will take a break for lunch which will be provided for sailors

No race will start after 4:00pm

Presentations directly after racing has been completed.

Eligibility of entry

This 'unregatta' is open to all Open Skiff sailors and Div 6 sailors (Yardstick >150).

Club Open Skiff can be booked for the day for $20 here

Fees

 $10 to cover for sailors' lunch and prizes

Rules

We will race according to the Racing Rules stated by Somers Yacht Club Notice of Race 2024-25 season.

Sailing instructions will be discussed at briefing.
